Training

Peer Leadership Training

When adolescents seek support for many of the typical life situations they face, they often approach their peers rather than seeking adult support systems which may already be in place. Youth of today tend to be energetic, positive and are extremely well positioned to support others in their peer groups. Peer helping or peer counseling programs can serve as an extremely effective support system in their community. Through inexpensive and purposeful training, young people can be provided with the opportunity to provide an effective and efficient resource and support to those people in a community responsible for the well-being of today’s youth. <Read more>
Effective peer helper programs require effective facilitators to ensure appropriate training and support for adolescents working to support their peers. One of the key components to setting up a successful peer support system in a school or community is to have appropriate training for the facilitators. <Read more>

Workshops & Presentations

Study / Examination Preparation Workshops
For many students, examinations and tests are the most stressful educational situations they face. Often, utilizing simple but effective preparation techniques is all that is needed.  Dr. Peirce conducts interactive workshops educating and encouraging students to use solid study techniques to allow them to show their true academic potential.

Post-Secondary Decision-Making Presentations

The key ingredient to a successful post-secondary educational career involves choosing an institution which is well suited for the student. A university which is good for one student may be disastrous for another. Good decisions, including post-secondary decisions, are best made by following a decision-making process ensuring that all the bases are covered. Dr. Peirce conduct presentations educating students and parents about a simple but appropriate methodology for making the critical post-secondary educational decision. These are the same ideas presented in his decision making workbooks. <see Publications>
